What do I need to know about PNF2 black powder ?

PNF2 black powder is used to load revolvers, pistols, rifles and carbines with black powder. In France, it is mainly manufactured by the company Novelsport under the brand name Vectan and packaged in the form of a canister. Like all black powders, PNF2 consists of a deflagrating mixture of potassium nitrate (saltpetre), sulphur and charcoal. It is used for shooting antique and replica black powder weapons.

Buying black powder

Black powder is classified as category D-1. Its sale is therefore prohibited to minors. In addition to being an adult, a copy of a valid shooting licence or hunting permit must be presented in order to purchase it. Moreover, for safety reasons, French law only allows the possession of a maximum of 2 kilograms of black powder at home.

The black powder is packaged in 500 gram or 1 litre plastic cans. It is sold only in gun shops.

Black powder cans cannot be delivered to your home. It is for this reason that the Jean Pierre Fusil armoury cannot propose some to you on its site. On the other hand, you can find loads of agglomerated powder, primers, round bullets and felt pads to load your black powder gun. Do not hesitate to contact us if you need more information.
