Katanas, Wakizashis & Tantos
The katana is a curved Japanese sword, about 60 cm long, worn tucked into the waistband and cutting upwards.
The wakizashi is a curved Japanese sword similar to the katana but smaller, measuring between 30 and 60 cm. It can be worn with a katana, tucked into the belt, in which case the set is called a “daisho”.
The tanto is a slightly curved, single-edged Japanese knife with a blade of less than 30 cm. The tanto's structure is generally similar to that of the katana, except that it is much shorter and less curved.
